CURSOR is a collective that aims to deepen our understanding of the digital world, taking an intersectional feminist approach. Our values include collaboration, kindness, community, and inclusivity. We value an interdisciplinary approach and the ability to create alternative spaces for those who may be marginalised from or don’t see themselves in traditional tech spaces.

We are proud of having a space where we can learn from each other and share resources. If you do feel particularly inspired by something CURSOR (either as a collective or something we have facilitated) has made, we are usually happy to share any advice or tips, or even work with you. We simultaneously strongly believe in crediting labour, and therefore encourage members and non-members to both credit the sources we are inspired by, as well as credit CURSOR if you are inspired by us.

Event Code of Conduct

CURSOR has a zero-tolerance policy for any harassment or hate speech. We expect everyone to be respectful towards each other and towards speakers, avoiding any disruptive behaviour or interruptions. Our community is responsible for taking care of each other, and we want to create welcoming spaces for everyone. Unless otherwise specified, CURSOR events are open to everyone, and we ask you to be mindful that vulnerable people including minors may attend our events.

Any behaviour that violates our values or makes other attendees feel uncomfortable will not be tolerated. We encourage our community to report any incidents of harassment or hate speech to a member of the CURSOR team.

We value learning and invite individuals from various disciplines to participate in our events. We believe that everyone has something valuable to contribute to the conversation. Let's work together to create imaginative futures and make our digital world a better place for all.

In-Person Events

Our in-person events follow the same guidelines as our offline events. In addition, we expect attendees to abide by the venue's rules and regulations. We want to ensure that our events are inclusive and welcoming for everyone, regardless of their background or identity.

We strive to use venues that are accessible in the broad sense, but this is not always possible. If you have any questions regarding accessibility at our venues, whether general or specific, do not hesitate to get in touch at [email protected].
