Theme
The lines between social media and reality is blurring, as more and more of our shared public spaces become scenes for content creation. Something that becomes even more apparent in Copenhagen e.g. when a new hyped bakery opens downtown or during fashion week when sidewalks turn into catwalks for content creators.
In this first session of More-than-a-Book-Club by Kritik Digital and Cursor, we’ll explore the boundaries of the cyberspace through the lens of influencer culture. We’ll examine how influencers shape not only our digital feeds but also our real-world experiences, and we’ll question our own roles as participants or consumers.

Questions for discussion
- How have you encountered influencer culture "in the wild" in your daily life?
- Which forces are pulling us all to be influencers in todays digital world?
- If we were to formulate dos and don'ts when filming in public spaces, what would they be?
- What insights does the particular data (that are a part of the texts of the day) give us about social media usage in Denmark and other EU countries?
- What differences do you potentially think are found across demographic groups (age, gender, etc.) when it comes to creating and consuming content?
- What are the implications of gendered technology? (building on today’s text about techno-feminism and techno-capitalism?)
- Which solutions/ points of departure does the text present?
